Exinda Networks hails first all-in-one offering

Vendor claims its UPM tool will be an easier sell for its VARs

Written by Laura Hailstone

Vendor Exinda Networks has launched what it has claimed is the first all-in-one WAN optimisation and application acceleration offering.

Dave Ryder, vice-president sales UK and Ireland at Exinda Networks, told CRN: “Our Unified Performance Management (UPM) tool brings several technologies into a single appliance to allow critical applications to work as quickly as possible. In the past, companies would have to buy separate network devices, so it should be an easier sell for resellers because they won’t have to train their sales and technical staff on multiple products. It should also be easier for end-users to understand.”

Exinda created UPM after it recognised that application acceleration alone is not capable of resolving the WAN performance and productivity challenges facing businesses.

“We’re 100 per cent indirect and launched the Exinda Networks Authorised Partner Programme last year,” Ryder said. “We will sell to non-authorised partners, but our authorised partners receive better discounts and support. We’re always looking for new VARs. Our door is open to new resellers, but we don’t want to have so many that they’re all fighting each other. We’d like those that are strong in a particular vertical or geographical region.”

Exinda currently has 25 resellers in the UK and an existing distribution agreement with Open PSL.

Ed Kallacher, networking divisional manager at Open PSL, said: “We’ve been selling Exinda’s whole range for 15 months. UPM will do for the bandwidth management market what UTM did for security, which is to make it easier to understand and easier to sell.”
