The Ritz upgrades network security

New platform will allow the luxury hotel to boost web-based data

Written by Angelica Mari

London hotel The Ritz is using a platform based on the software-as-a-service model to enhance its online information security.

"We were looking for a bespoke solution to protect 120 email users and to deal efficiently with an increasing number of web-based guest reservations and we also wanted better integration, superior usability and more comprehensive reporting," said Richard Isted, IT director at The Ritz.

The new system includes a round-the-clock business continuity service, which was added to the basic email security package, which is critical for the hotel's operations, said Isted.

"If a crucial function fails, the service kicks in immediately - a vital requirement for us," he said.

The system was provided by Webroot.
