Mobile vouchers to support beer promotion

Mine's a pint - Pitcher & Piano and Coors Brewers partnership uses voucher authentication via chip-and-PIN technology

Written by Angelica Mari

Coors Brewers and Pitcher & Piano bars have developed a national mobile voucher campaign based on a chip-and-PIN system in a bid to increase sales.

Under the promotion, customers can redeem print or mobile Coors vouchers available on the brewers’ web site for a free beer. The voucher contains a code, which is then entered by bar staff onto a chip-and-PIN terminal for authentication to avoid misuse and extra administration.

“This is a great example of how we have listened and worked with Pitcher & Piano to deliver a unique piece of activity that will not only drive footfall into 28 Pitcher & Piano bars but will also drive up weighted purchase of Coors Light with both new and existing consumers,”said Nicola Young, marketing communications director at Coors Brewers.

Card payment specialist Commidea has provided the equipment and Eagle Eye Solutions provided the system behind the initiative.
