Fashion chain Kookaï has rolled out a new reporting tool designed to improve the management of its ordering processes.

The system will enable the company to enhance accuracy when reporting information, and should also boost replenishment capability and generate more sales, according to Kookaï.

The firm said that concessions, the practice of working with third-party companies to allow retailers to promote products and services within large retail outlets such as department stores, represents a large chunk of business for retailers such as Kookaï.

But the lack of a direct link between the company's IT and electronic point of sale systems at department stores reduced productivity, as purchase receipts need to be collected at different tills, information logged onto Kookaï's back-office system and then checked against the third party's data.

To speed up the data collection process and free up staff time, the rollout of the new reporting tool is set to be completed before the peak Christmas period. Some of the chain's partners are also working on electronic data interchange projects.

The system is being provided by supplier Kewill.
