Oracle stakes insurance software claim

Skywire acquisition to increase insurer customer base by 150 per cent

Written by Martin Courtney

Oracle is to acquire the application software business of Skywire Software, an insurance and document management specialist with an estimated 1,450 customers worldwide and offices in London.

Skywire is a subsidiary of the privately held investment firm Hall Financial Group. The terms of the deal were not disclosed.

Skywire's insurance software will be integrated into Oracle's Insurance Global Business Unit, which is already set to grow following the acquisition of AdminServer, which was announced last month.

The document management part of the business will be absorbed into Oracle's enterprise content management portfolio.
