Lantec workers to tailor PDA applications "on the fly"

Latest software allows engineers to edit programs

Written by Neon Kelly

Field operators at IT infrastructure support firm Lantec are customising their own PDA applications.

Lantec employs 175 engineers to fulfill its IT support contracts around the UK. As part of these jobs, staff regularly use handheld devices to record the progress of the work in hand.

Lantec has adopted Aeromark's Workflow DynMX software, which allows workflow programs to be created and altered on the fly.

"Workflow DynMX will enable us to improve our service levels and dramatically increase our operational efficiency,” said Tony Barr, IT director at Lantec.

"This technology also offers the ability to modify workflows within days, rather than months."

Once the roll-out has been completed, the company will be able to alter their PDA applications without the need for further spending.
