Thomson Reuters migrates to high-speed network

The publisher will move to a high-speed WAN to cover 300 locations worldwide

Written by Angelica Mari

Media group Thomson Reuters has signed an agreement with BT to manage its wide area network (WAN) in an eight-year outsourcing deal.

BT will migrate the company's existing network into a high-speed infrastructure to cover more than 300 locations across 100 countries, including six application hosting datacentres.

The new deal follows the two companies’ existing relationship, which started in 2005 with a contract involving the transformation and management of Thomson Reuters’ global network.

“Thomson Reuters is committed to gathering and providing high-quality information to meet the needs of our demanding markets. To do this effectively we needed to support our people with a world-class, efficient and well-managed internal network,” said Thomson Reuters’ managing director of content, technology and operations Peter Moss.

“We are confident our supplier can execute against our requirements wherever in the world they may be.”
