Glasgow City Council expects to increase council tax collection by 2 per cent and save £200,000 a year in administration costs, following an eight-week review.
Council staff and consultants from Capgemini identified 54 areas for improvement which aim to eliminate duplication and reduce red tape.
The project highlights the benefits of public and private sector collaboration, said Lynn Brown, finance director at Glasgow City Council.
"The success of this project shows what can be achieved when the public and private sectors pool their expertise, as we have done to great effect with Capgemini," she said.
The savings generated by the project will be used to improve frontline services, while staff will continue to benefit from newly acquired skills.
