EMC reports record figures

Revenue up 19 per cent, profit up 43 per cent for full-year 2007

Written by Computing staff

EMC has reported record annual revenue of $13.2bn (£6.7bn), up 19 per cent from last year, and profit was also up, by 43 per cent, to $1.7bn (£900m).

The fourth quarter figures were also a record, said the company. Revenue was up 19 per cent to $3.8bn (£1.9bn) and profit was up 33 per cent to $526m (£265m).

EMC chairman Joe Tucci said: "EMC is well positioned in the areas where IT spending will grow the fastest this year.

"Our focus on innovation and research and development is enabling us to tackle emerging customer priorities such as Web 2.0, virtualization, compliance and new online methods for purchasing and consuming software."
