Housing Corporation signs £7.5m outsourcing deal

Supplier Steria to take over IT systems across nine offices and introduce new service desk

Written by Bryan Glick

The Housing Corporation, the government agency that funds affordable housing, has signed a £7.5m outsourcing deal with supplier Steria.

The contract covers all of the agency’s IT infrastructure and the management and upgrading of desktop systems across nine offices.

Steria will also take responsibility for application support, systems administration, security and storage backup and recovery.

The Housing Corporation plans to introduce ITIL standards as part of the implementation of a new service desk to be delivered through the outsourcing arrangement.

“We’re responsible for funding new and affordable housing and regulating housing associations throughout England. We are delighted to award this contract to Steria after an extensive procurement process which has focused on choosing the right partner to help meet our business needs," said Peter Marsh, deputy chief executive at the Housing Corporation.
