On-demand CRM service has added a record 3000 new customers in the second quarter

Written by Dave Friedlos

On-demand online customer relationship management service Salesforce.com has raised its revenue forecast for the year after exceeding its second quarter sales targets.

Annual sales predictions are now between $727m (£366m) and $732m (£369m), up from $722m (£364m) to $728m (£367m).

Salesforce.com set new second quarter sales figures of $177m (£89m), up 49 per cent on last year, and also added a record 3,000 new customers.

The company now provides CRM services to more than 35,000 businesses and 800,000 subscribers, says Salesforce.com chief executive Marc Benioff.

‘Our business continues to show incredible momentum,’ he said.

‘A year ago, our largest customer had roughly 7,500 subscribers but today, we have two customers with more than 30,000 subscribers.’
