Virgin Trains is overhauling its finance and procurement systems to improve purchasing across its West Coast and CrossCountry rail franchises.
The company wants to buy a fully integrated finance and procurement system that can be accessed by more than 100 staff across multiple sites. It also wants new reporting functions integrated with Office and accessible via a web browser.
‘Rather than merely upgrading the current system, we have an opportunity to evaluate the marketplace and implement best-fit software,’ said a spokesman.
The system will allow integrated procurement across both franchises and provide improved reporting for management.
‘This will allow procurement of assets common to both franchises. We want to choose a system that fits our requirements,’ said the spokesman.
