Vendor Computacenter Services has signed a five-year outsourcing deal with entertainment company FremantleMedia, makers of hit shows The Apprentice and The X-Factor.
The multimillion-pound agreement will see Computacenter taking responsibility for 1,600 computers and over 100 servers, as well as providing IT support for 1,200 workers based the UK.
Under the new contract, a shared facilities system will be used to monitor FremantleMedia's core systems in Europe and America, with Computacenter taking charge of all service queries.
'We deliver thousands of hours of programming every year, and our IT systems play a key role in the production process,' said Adam Seaman, operations manager for FremantleMedia.
'By partnering with Computacenter, we expect to be able to increase the availability and scalability of our infrastructure, which will help ensure our staff have access to the IT systems they need to make and distribute new television programmes,' he said.
FremantleMedia is part of the RTL Group and is the largest producer of radio and TV content in Europe.
