The Civil Nuclear Constabulary (CNC) is installing workforce management software to replace ageing legacy systems and improve the scheduling of its duty officers.
The CNC, a specialised armed force that protects civil nuclear sites and nuclear material, will deploy the software across 15 UK sites to improve management of employee scheduling, overtime, leave and labour costs.
The Open Options Duty Planning System will provide a single system that can be accessed from any of its sites in England, Scotland and Wales to manage its 800 staff.
‘This represents a major step forward in our ability to manage and deploy our officers in the most effective and efficient manner,’ said CNC project manager Sergeant Mark Taylor.
‘A comprehensive networked system is vital to our organisation which deploys Police Officers at civil nuclear sites throughout the UK.’
The software can be integrated fully with CNC’s existing SAP HR system and is expected to reduce administrative processes significantly.
Deployment of the new system by Crown Computing started in April and is expected to be rolled out in the autumn.
