Computer processing glitch delays salary payments

Banking systems fail to pay up to 400,000 people

Up to 400,000 people may not receive their salary payments today (Friday) because of a processing problem with the banking system.

Automated clearing house Bacs, which processes ninety per cent of UK salaries failed to clear both weekly and monthly salaries due to be paid before the weekend.

The UK payments association Apacs has apologised for the payment glitch confirmed that all individuals affected will receive their normal salary payment by Monday (2nd April).
