Wi-Fi checks in at Thistle Hotels

BT Openzone to be available at all hotels

Written by Dave Friedlos

Thistle Hotels has signed an agreement with BT Openzone to offer high-speed Wi-Fi access in all rooms and all areas of its Thistle and Guoman Hotels.

The deal will make it the largest full service hotel chain in the UK to provide BT Openzone wireless broadband connectivity.

‘We are confident that this partnership will offer our customers the ultimate in hotel Wi-Fi service,’ said Thistle Hotels sales and marketing director Stuart Leven.

‘Our wireless broadband services will provide fast, easy to use access for guests using the hotels for leisure or business. Now that wireless access is available throughout the hotel, meeting and events clients can stay constantly connected during their stay.’

The service is currently provided in 15 Thistle and Guoman Hotels, with plans to roll it out across all hotels throughout 2007.

Fast, flexible and reliable Wi-Fi access is a pre-requisite for business travellers when choosing a hotel, says BT Openzone general manager Chris Bruce.

Roaming agreements will also provide Wi-Fi to visitors at Thistle Hotels around the world.
