Retailer dresses up stock management software

Upgrade delivers improved profits to Cult Clothing

Written by Dave Friedlos

Fashion retailer Cult Clothing has upgraded its retail management systems to improve stock management, gather customer data and maximise sales across its shops.

The company has enhanced its systems to integrate with its account systems and tills to capture customer details and respond to customer’s purchasing trends.

Logistics manager Ian Munday says the improved stock management and sales data has helped Cult Clothing improve its profitability.

‘Many independent retailers are tightening the belts in the current market,’ he said. ‘At Cult we are expanding the number of shops that we have and promoting and developing our own brand.

‘With the new retail management system we have been able to reduce stock holding, revise our purchasing strategy to meet buying trends and operate more profitably. The benefits have already paid for the cost of the system.’

Munday says it is vital for specialist retailers to react quickly to customer trends and having a clear view on stock levels ensures it remains profitable in a competitive sector.

Cult upgraded its WinRMIS retail management system and WinPOS tills from Eurostop, delivering real time sales figures for management, integration of stock across all shops and a touch screen till so each store can view and request stock items.

The software also informs staff automatically when stock is running low. The reduced reporting time has ensured that stock is supplied to stores earlier.
