Kimberly-Clark signs five-year outsourcing deal

Kleenex manufacturer aims to cut costs and drive innovation

Written by Dave Friedlos

Kimberly-Clark, manufacturer of products including Kleenex and Huggies, has signed an IT applications outsourcing deal across its global operations.

The five-year deal covers its SAP and customised software applications like strategic planning, product management, supply chain planning, sourcing, sales and marketing, data exchange, enterprise management and customer management.

Kimberly-Clark vice president of business support delivery Ian Maginnis says the deal will drive its IT transformation agenda and innovation.

‘We were looking for a partnership that would deliver cost savings via worldwide sourcing and would transform how we deliver IT applications in support of our global business plan,’ he said.

Cognizant will deliver a broad range of IT applications services to Kimberly-Clark across various locations in North America, Europe, India and Latin America.

Cognizant will also leverage its relationship with SAP and experience in delivering large-scale, global SAP applications projects.

Maginnis says the approach will also help Kimberly-Clark, which has an annual turnover of $16bn (£8.1bn) transform its IT footprint, reduce costs and drive new IT-based capabilities.
