Moto drives payroll with managed system

Five-year outsourcing deal allows motorway services firm to concentrate on core business

Written by Dave Friedlos

Moto Hospitality, the leading provider of motorway services areas, has signed a £500,000 deal to outsource its payroll functions for the next five years.

Northgate HR will take on responsibility for paying the company’s 4,500 employees at 48 sites across the UK, with existing payroll staff being retained to provide front line help desk support to staff with queries about their pay.

Moto chief executive Tim Moss says the company wanted a low risk transition period with realistic objectives, which is why it opted for the managed payroll solution.

‘Our requirement was for a provider that could take over responsibility for our payroll and get things up and running quickly,’ he said.

‘Northgate HR was able to demonstrate they could deliver what they promised and remain on budget, reducing the risk of moving from one payroll solution to another.’

The decision enables Moto to concentrate on its core business.

Moto has been an established part of the motorway network since 2001, providing facilities for drivers when they take a break from their journey.
