Swiss Re updates conferencing capability

Conferencing system will improve cross-organisation collaboration

Written by Lara Williams

Global reinsurer Swiss Re is updating its web conferencing capabilities to improve business efficiency.

Swiss Re's 8,800 employees operate from over 70 offices in 30 countries using multiple conferencing vendors and tools which was inhibiting cross-organisation collaboration and creating cost and productivity inefficiencies.

The organisation has switched to a single supplier of voice, web and video conferencing.

The move will unify the reinsurer’s remote teams, optimise business processes throughout its global locations and ensure more secure, consistent and economical communication and collaboration throughout the company.

Interwise Connect will  supply Swiss Re with conferencing capability for each employee with unlimited usage for a fixed price.

The improved facility will accelerate business processes and solves the challenges of connecting distributed and mobile workforces, customers and supply chains.

John Schurdak, head of group platforms for Swiss Re said: ‘We are able to bring together multiple tools, including bandwidth optimisation in one solution.’

The integrated voice and web conferencing from a single platform allows users to conduct stand alone telephone conferences, web meetings, eLearning classes and web seminars with one product.

Benefits include bandwidth optimisation between the main hubs, especially between Swiss Re’s Far East operations and its headquarters in Zurich

A fixed price for unlimited usage business model together with enterprise-scalability allows Swiss Re to give everyone in the company access to conferencing;

The conference facilities can be fully integrated with the company's existing security, administrative and calendaring systems including SSO, Reverse Proxy, LDAP and Lotus Notes.

The platform is easy to use and does not require extensive training sessions.
