Flight operator sees sky high return on investment

CT2 saves through e-invoicing software

Written by Dave Friedlos

Independent tour operator CT2 has seen a return on its investment in e-invoicing software in two months and expects to save over £50,000 a year.

The company which operates CT2-flights and low cost flight operation Locoflights, is battling ever-shrinking margins in a competitive industry.

It implemented the e-invoicing software to cut costs after it realised posting some 200,000 invoices to travel agents and online customers was not cost effective.

IT director Graham Currey said: ‘Flight only operators are in a fiercely competitive industry and so cutting costs and improving customer service became top priorities.

‘The software has revolutionised our invoice processes and we can now follow up online bookings with the automated delivery of invoices, saving time and money.’

Invoices are now created using a flexible form design module and then automatically emailed out as PDF attachments. Copies of all outgoing invoices are automatically saved in the back-office system.

CT2 can also invoice customers at all times of the day and night and even when the office is closed, speeding-up the receipt of payment. It has also been able to redeploy back-office staff into more critical sales roles.

CT2 chose Version One to provide the e-invoicing software and implemented in just three weeks.

‘It has the flexibility to provide invoices in a number of different formats according to agent requirements,’ Curry added.

‘The payback has been so impressive that we are already looking at using software for electronic delivery of statements.
