Paper firm wraps up improved business intelligence

Antalis trialling new web-based sales intelligence software

Written by Dave Friedlos

Paper distributor Antalis is trialling new on-demand business intelligence software to improve its sales performance without adding to its IT infrastructure.

The company, which has annual turnover of £1.5bn, is testing a hosted and managed service that is separate from its customer relationship management (CRM) software.

Information based on customer buying patterns can be delivered to sales and marketing teams through a hosted web-based application.

IT Director Farid Motamed said: ‘We have rolled out sales intelligence to over 200 office and field-based sales staff in the last three years. This mix of users means it is critical that (the new software) continues to support online and offline usage even though it is a hosted service.’

Motamed says the new software has advantages over traditional client-server and browser-based applications and the company has been able to provide sales people with the latest customer and sales history over the web.

This ensures staff can act on that information quickly to boost sales performance.

Vecta is providing the software Vecta OnDemand to translate raw data into timely and relevant sales information to direct Antalis staff to profitable opportunities.
