Mark Warner staff go remote

IP platform enables travel company to embrace remote working

Written by Dave Friedlos

Independent travel company Mark Warner is investing in IP communications to enable staff to work remotely from home, on the road or abroad.

The technology will initially be deployed to its mobile workforce to cut costs on international calls, before rolling it out to staff across the whole company.

With 55,000 customers travelling with the company each year, the company believes the IP communications platform will help streamline its communications.

It will improve the support available to its mobile workforce and enable the company to communicate more cost-effectively with its travelling customers.

IT manager Graham Silversides said: ‘We were disappointed that our existing telephone switch could not migrate to a fully IP environment.

‘We were impressed the quality and functionality of the IP communications platform and are confident users will find it easier to get to grips with.’

The company chose the Mitel 3300 IP Communications Platform and Telinet to provide advice and support.

Teleworking will enable Mark Warner’s employees to have the same functionality and features on the road that they would find in the office. It also has the flexibility to add users as the business grows and provide greater control over call-handling to improve customer service.
