We celebrate the Computing awards in style

The winners of the Computing Awards for Eccellence 2005 have been announced

More than 1,000 guests from across the UK IT community gathered in London last night for the 13th annual Computing Awards for Excellence ceremony.

This year’s event was the most successful ever, with a record number of entries – more than double last year’s total.

Head of egovernment Ian Watmore picked up the top award, for Outstanding Contribution to the UK IT industry, for his role in championing the IT profession in the public sector and leading the first government-wide IT strategy.

Comedian Jack Dee hosted the evening at the Battersea Park Events Arena, where 23 awards were presented, recognising and rewarding the best companies, teams and individuals in UK IT.
