Organisation signs deal with Zeus

Newport City Council is using business process and web traffic management systems to comply with a Welsh Assembly online accessibility initiative.

Known as ZXTM, or Zeus Extensible Traffic Manager, Newport Council says the system has already saved it time and money by getting 24,000 documents into its new web content management system quickly.

Mark Neilson, Newport's infrastructure manager, says the business process system's graphical user interface has helped staff get instant visibility of problems.

'We hope that this innovation will eventually enable Newport City Council to provide staff with transparent access to public and restricted information from one web site,' he said.

The project is part of what Newport calls an authority-wide project aimed at increasing its resilience and performance, putting more information online for use by the public.
