Utility company West of Scotland Water has rejected bids by SAP and Oracle and awarded its #2 million accounting software and consultancy contract to PeopleSoft. A spokesman said that PeopleSoft was selected after a series of site visits and a review week for each supplier to prove its case. When West of Scotland Water was created in 1996, it inherited disparate legacy software systems administered by Strathclyde Council. The PeopleSoft system will integrate data from these applications.
