Welcome to Computing's weekly podcast for 11 January 2007.

This week the Transformational Government plan - the government's first IT strategy - is one year old. We look back at what it is trying to achieve, the latest progress, and what we can expect in the next 12 months.

New research suggests that the IT skills gap in the UK is growing, for both IT professionals and technology users.

And analyst Gartner says that companies are still failing to use IT to support competitive business growth.
