IT directors have pledged more than 15,000 used desktops since last April to our Computer Aid appeal.
Working with specialist charity Computer Aid International, Computing is asking the UK’s technology leaders to donate old PCs so they can be put to use in the developing world.
IT directors pledged more than 28,000 computers to the appeal between April 2004 and 2005. And the number of pledged PCs continues to grow, as hundreds of public and private sector technology leaders back the campaign.
Computer Aid International chief executive Tony Roberts says donations from Computing readers will help provide education and training throughout the developing world.
‘The response to the appeal has been amazing,’ he said. ‘Thanks to readers, Computer Aid has received more PC donations this year than ever before.’
Computer Aid International provides free reconditioning to help companies dispose of unwanted kit effectively. GCHQ-approved hard disk data removal is guaranteed.
