One of the easiest ways to get images off a digital camera is to use a memory card reader. Older PCs are generally devoid of such comforts but there are ways round it. The Trust Direct Access USB Multi Connect Hub fits into a free 5.25in drive bay and equips the PC with a 6-in-1 card reader, two USB 2 ports, FireWire, a line out socket and microphone port.

You will need to open up your PC to fit the hub, but it's a pretty simple process. Pop off the side of the case and slot the drive into a free bay.

A gang of wires from the hub then need to be fed through the PC to a PCI connector plate. You then connect your existing FireWire, USB and audio ports to the plate.

It's the not the most elegant solution as the hub simply extends your existing ports to the front of the case. But there is a selection of stick-on fascias enabling you to match the hub to the colour of your case.

If you need a quick solution to your memory card woes then the Trust hub is a good, yet basic option. The fact that it allows for simple port connectivity at the front of the case is worthy of note.
