1st Email AntiVirus 3.0

Receive HTML emails in text format.

Paul Rowlingson, vnunet.com 14 Oct 2002

Previously known as Email Not HTML, 1st Email AntiVirus strips HTML from emails and converts them into plain-text format. The program also compresses attachments to ensure your mail client's 'auto-preview' feature doesn't execute them.

These functions can help prevent viruses infecting your PC, by preventing any infected attachments from launching and removing any harmful scripts/ActiveX controls/applets and web bugs from incoming emails.

The program sits between your mail client and Pop3 server, converting emails on the fly. A system tray icon allows easy changes to settings.

HTML stripping occurs in the background with no noticeable delay in message retrieval times. Any active links in an email are maintained for convenience.

Some manual changes do have to be made to your email settings, but these are all clearly explained in the help files.

The program has been tested on the following mail clients, and should work with any Pop3-compliant client:

MS Outlook/Outlook Express
Netscape Messenger/Communicator
Eudora
The Bat

Purchase price: $29.00
