Mark Lever, a qualified accountant, is to lead the National Autistic Society as chief executive.
Lever moves from his current role as chief executive of volunteering charity WRVS. He worked at WRVS for 12 years and was chief executive from 2002.
He played a key role at WRVS during his time at the helm. He lead a rebranding in 2004 and managed a radical restructure that reduced central costs and pushed resources and decision making closer to the communities where the charity works.
'This feels like the right time for me to move on and look for a new challenge,' Lever said.
