Online auction site eBay has welcomed the arrest of the Romanian cyber-criminal known as Vladuz.
eBay had accused Vladuz of attempting to defraud users by accessing administrative accounts, but claimed his efforts were unsuccessful.
eBay’s chief information security officer, Dave Cullinane, said: "We are delighted that Vladuz is in custody thanks to the hard work of Romanian law enforcement. Its willingness to work closely with eBay and other global law enforcement agencies was instrumental in making this arrest."
eBay security officers accompanied Romanian state police on the raid and helped gather information on Vladuz's activities.
