The EDS-led Atlas Consortium has awarded supplier Infonic a major sub-contract for the supply of software licences and maintenance to the Ministry of Defence (MoD).
Infonic's Geo-Replication software will be used in the Defence Information Infrastructure (Future) project, commissioned by the MoD and managed by Atlas.
The contract is worth a minimum of £8.3m, with £4.1m of software to be delivered in the first 90 days of the contract. The supplier will also provide contracted maintenance and services to the value of £4.2m over seven years.
The deal is a significant one for Infonic, said chief executive Mark Thompson.
"This latest contract clearly demonstrates the importance of efficiently accelerating information delivery across global enterprises," he said.
