All the latest news from 3GSM in Barcelona

Written by Iain Thomson

The world's biggest mobile conference and exhibition is having its best year ever, with 1,300 exhibitors and an expected 60,000 visitors due through the gates over the next three days.

This is the 3GSM show's second year in Barcelona and the new venue has allowed the organisers to expand the number of exhibitors now that the event has outgrown its previous venue in Cannes.

While most firms are announcing new handsets and mobile applications, there are a host of other mobile related products on display, ranging from hardcore networking equipment to small handheld accessories.

GPS is expected to feature strongly in terms of handsets and applications, while mobile TV is also a hot topic.
