Cranfield University is opening an Enterprise Systems Laboratory to investigate how best to implement business IT infrastructure.
Research by the university has revealed that businesses of all sizes do not have sufficiently skilled people to support new enterprise systems, says Dr Ip-Shing Fan, a senior lecturer at Cranfield.
'The Enterprise System Lab will provide a 'safe' environment for students and businesses to experiment with the system implementation process,' he said.
'This will ensure they are able to make informed decisions to minimise risks and maximise benefit from any investment, immediately after implementation.'
The first Masters courses will be offered to student working in the laboratory from the beginning of October this year.
