The Guide Dogs for the Blind Association has deployed a new intranet to improve services for its blind and partially sighted staff.
Supplied by Percussion, the intranet will allow more of the charity's employees to contribute content, increasing the information it carries. Previously just six people had been able to make contributions.
Guide Dogs' new media development manager Pat Farr says the project was essential to make the site compliant with government accessibility guidelines.
'The next phase of the project will include a re-design and re-development of the public web site which will also be made fully accessible,' she said.
The intranet will now be compatible with technology like screen readers, which are used by blind and partially sighted people to access information on web pages.
